The Story
Reading Plan
As a group let’s read The Story together, moving through the book at the same time.
Small group meetings would be great! Get together with some friends and talk about what you have read.
Discussion questions are in the back of the book, if you need a place to start.
We will have a scheduled meeting once a week –
Sundays – 8:30 am at St Johns and 10:00 am at St Peters
If you are unable to make a time, just keep up with the reading and join a group when you can.
Book club, this is not meant to be a Bible study
The job of The Story is not to replace the Bible, but to direct you toward the Bible.
The main idea behind The Story is to read a book about the “big picture” of the Bible. The story line goes in chronological order and introduces characters, places, etc. to make it flow as a story from beginning to end.
The introduction explains how parts of the Bible are omitted. While you are reading, breaks in the narrative indicate that something has been left out, to keep the flow of the story going.
Again, the job of The Story is not to replace the Bible, but to direct you toward the Bible.
There is power in being united in what we are reading and hope that it will simply bring up conversation between people that are reading the same book as you.
We encourage small group gathering
8:30 am Sundays at St Johns and 10:00 am Sundays at St Peters
After church fellowship, just meeting friends during the week, etc.
Discussion questions are in the back of the book, feel free to use them as you see fit.
During lent, a meeting of folks from both churches should be able to happen around the Wednesday evening service – during the meal or after the service.
If you are not able to meet up with anyone during a time period, please just keep reading on track and join us when you can.
Godspeed and thanks for giving The Story a try.
